Update on Harrisonburg Historic Map Project Through Week 11

Throughout the last few weeks we have still been working on the historic map project. We incorporated all of the maps from the new collection into our current collection. Since many of the maps were smaller and didn't really need to be in large map folders, we moved them to smaller folders that we can fit into a smaller box. As a result, we got rid of half of the old map folders and now only have 10 folders instead of 20.

We ran into some problems for a couple days when we realized that about 5 maps were actually missing from the collection. We had to go through all of the folders to see if they were just misplaced and were able to find all of them except for one. We still cannot find this last map, but we decided to continue on with the project and as of now, every map has a new number on it corresponding to the new list of maps with the old and new collections combined.

We should be able to finish up this entire project within the next week, as we only have to update the finding aid online then all of this will be complete.
